With Ambient's MCP (Model Context Protocol) server, you can connect that shared context directly to Claude, ChatGPT, and other AI tools you already use. No copying and pasting. No re-explaining. Just ask.

Ambient is a shared brain for your team. We pool context from your meetings, Slack, and email so your AI tools can work with the full picture, not just what you remember to paste in.

📺 New to MCP? MCP is an open standard that lets AI tools connect to external data sources. Think of it as giving your AI a direct line to your Ambient account.

🔌 What you can access

Once connected, your AI can pull from everything in your Ambient account:

Transcripts	Raw meeting transcripts with speaker labels and time codes
Search by person or company	Find meetings and summaries by attendee email or company domain
Projects	All artifacts and files organized within your Ambient projects
Files	Documents uploaded to projects, with extracted text and AI-generated summaries
Meeting dossiers	Pre-meeting research: attendee context, past meetings, conversation starters
Daily briefings	Once-a-day overview of your upcoming meetings

🎯 What this looks like in practice

Client escalation. Jumping into a fire and need to get up to speed fast? Ask your AI to pull transcripts and summaries with @clientdomain.com and get perfect recall on every conversation your team has had.

Board prep. Search by a board member's email to surface every relevant meeting. Pull the dossier for your upcoming board meeting to see attendee context and past discussion history.

New hire onboarding. Hand someone the full history of a client relationship in seconds. Pull all artifacts from a project, or search by company domain to find every meeting involving that account.

Weekly review. Ask for your action items from this week's meetings. Get summaries across your 1:1s, standups, and leadership meetings without opening a single recording.

Pre-meeting prep. Before any call, ask for the meeting dossier. Ambient will surface who's attending, what you've discussed with them before, and relevant context to help you walk in sharp.

⚙️ How it works

Ambient's MCP server is a secure, read-only connection between your Ambient account and your AI tool.

When you ask a question, your AI calls Ambient's tools behind the scenes to search and retrieve data, then brings the results back into your conversation.

Permission-scoped. You only see meetings, artifacts, projects, and files you're authorized to access within your organization.
Read-only. Your AI can retrieve information from Ambient but cannot modify or write data back.

📋 What you'll need

An active Ambient account with API access enabled
Your MCP server URL (found in Account Settings > Ambient API)
A paid account on Claude or ChatGPT
